Marilyn Jensen Houlberg (July 17, 1939 – June 29, 2012) was a leading expert on the arts and culture of Haitian Vodou. She was Professor Emeritus of Liberal Arts and Professor Emeritus of Art History, Theory, and Criticism at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, having taught there since 1974.
Houlberg entered college at the University of Chicago, earning her BFA in 1963, and her MAT in 1967. She then went to University College London, earning her M.A. in 1973.
