Ernst Haas (March 2, 1921 – September 12, 1986) was an Austrian-American photojournalist and color photographer. Haas was a pioneer in photojournalism, as well as the creative use of photography. Haas, in addition to covering events all over the world after World War II was also a pioneer of color photography. His images were disseminated by magazines like Life and Vogue and, in 1962, were the subject of the first single-artist exhibition of color photography at New York’s Museum of Modern Art. His book The Creation (2001) was a bestseller and he served as the president of Magnum Photos.
